Lorene Petri
Lorene Petri, nee Weber, 88, of Belleville, Ill., born Sept. 3, 1927, in Millstadt, Ill., passed peacefully on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at her residence in the Atrium of Belleville, in the presence of her daughters.
Mrs. Petri was a homemaker. She graduated from Millstadt High School and attended business school before working in the payroll department of International Shoe Company in Belleville. After raising her three children, she returned to the work force at Eckert Printing, and later as a secretary at Dixon Insurance and Real Estate offices in Belleville. Her husband's employment took them to central Florida where she resided for 42 years.
She was a former member of Christ United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill., and a charter member of Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ of Winter Haven, Fla.
Lorene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Alvin James Petri, whom she married on Jan. 4, 1947, and who died on May 19, 2006; her son, Terry James Petri; her parents, Alfred and Alvina, nee Haas, Weber; a sister, Dolores Toenjes; and a brother, Frederick "Joe" Weber.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeri (Rick) Hoelscher of Monterey, Tenn., and Kim (Don) Nelson of Chesapeake, Va.; six cherished grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) North, Griffin (Maureen) Petri, Blake (Jaime) Hoelscher, Kori (Matt) Skinner, Ryan Nelson, and Ciara Nelson; nine great-grandchildren, Christine, Karolina and Gabriella North, Rory and James Petri, Brooke and Jenna Hoelscher, and Caden and Rylee Skinner; two sisters, Dorothy Cheek of Belleville, Ill., and Irma Olson of Placerville, Calif.; nieces and nephews; and friends.
The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff of Atrium of Belleville for their caring and competent service during Mrs. Petri's residence there.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
