Roger E. Doiron, 85, of Belleville, Ill., born July 6, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Doiron was a project foreman for Monsanto Company and also worked as a store room supervisor for Ethyl Corporation, Sauget, Ill. He was a member of Hope Church, Belleville, Ill., and a strong supporter of Channel 9, Public Media, St. Louis, Mo. Roger was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps
veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre.
An avid golfer for over 60 years, Roger belonged to the T & T golf league. He spent many weekends at Elmwood with his golfing buddies and is probably looking forward to teeing it up with his son in heaven. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors, and his dog, Annie.
Roger was preceded in death by his son, Craig Doiron; his parents, Luke and Edna Louise, nee Cox, Doiron; a brother, James Doiron; and a sister, Mary Lou Schmidt.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Ginger", nee Kolb, Doiron of Belleville, Ill.; his daughter, Lisa Doiron of Belleville, Ill.; his step-daughter, Connie (Bill) Tilley of Belleville, Ill.; his daughter-in-law, Ellen Doiron of Creve Coeur, Mo.; three grandchildren, Alyana, Justine, and Luke Doiron; and a step-grandson, Alec Tilley.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Hope Church, 200 Dapron Drive, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Hope Church, Belleville, Ill., with Pastor Jay Krumeich officiating.
