We just found out about Fr. Gerry. There are no words to express how important he was to our family. He was so wise and loving. He was with us around my late husband's bedside and offered the last Mass we experienced together. I will be forever grateful that he was part of my family's life.

I grew up with Father Gerry being a friend of my parents. I remember fondly him playing the guitar in our living room. When I fell in love, Father Gerry took my to be husband and I under his guidance, love, and care. His words are still with us after 17 years of marriage. They have guided us well. We will miss you Father Gerry, but your wisdom lives on in our love.

Father Gerry will always have a special place in our hearts ... we felt a real presence when he said Mass at St. Annes and we also spent many wonderful times with him during our time in Gorham. A very special Priest who will be greatly missed.

A trusted friend who helped many (including myself)to learn what relationships were truly about. Your realness and sense of love will are already being missed (at least here in Tewksbury). Ruth and I will miss your friendship and your guidance. You've been a light to each of us. And I am sure you will continue to burn as brightly for others as you have and will for us. May God Bless you and keep you in his heart as you will always be in ours.

Father Gerry was always a joy to have at St. Anne's, especially at Christmas. He had such a beautiful voice, when he sang Oh Holy Night it brought tears to my eyes each time I heard him. Last year I saw him before he served mass. I spent a few minutes talking to him and told him how much we enjoyed having him there. It was the last time I saw him. We know he is in Heaven now continuing his songs. Our condolences to his sister and her husband.

As a newly ordained priest back in the early 70s I was assigned to a South Portland, Maine parish and got to know Gerry and his work at the then Maine Youth Correctional Center very well. We maintained contact over the years until about 15 years ago. I will always remember his enthusiasm for the priesthood and his concern for the least amongst us. May he rest in peace.
