Alois G. Beckmann, 82, of Bartelso, Ill., born Nov. 16, 1933, in Bartelso, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden, Ill.
Mr. Beckmann was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso, Ill., and a 50 year member of Local 662, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Alois was an avid hunter, and enjoyed the time spent at his clubhouse. He liked to follow Clinton County League baseball, playing the harmonica, and most of all the time spent with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. "Margie" Bekcmann, nee Loepker, whom he married Sept. 20, 1955 in Bartelso, Ill., and who preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 2014; parents, Fred and Elizabeth, nee Wessel, Beckmann; a daughter, Jackie Beckmann; and three brothers, Paul, Dominic and Leonard Beckmann.
Surviving are his children, Debbie (Stan) Schomaker of New Baden, Ill., Nancy (David) Griesbaum of Okawville, Ill., Sandy (Mike) Rehkemper of New Baden, Ill., Allen (Laura) Beckmann of Bartelso, Ill., Joyce (Dale) Schomaker of New Baden, Ill., and Glen Beckmann (friend, Tara Eversgerd) of Bartelso, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, Nick Anita) Schomaker, Kelly (Randy) Ross, Paula (Curt) Stepp, Jennifer (Josh) Riggs, Jessi (Dusty) Biggs and husband Dusty, Jake Griesbaum (special friend, Amber), Brad (Amy) Rehkemper, Tricia Rehkemper (special friend, Bobby H.), Karlee Rehkemper, Nathan (Jennifer) Beckmann, Allyn Beckmann (friend, Nick Bullin), Casey Schomaker, Brent (Nicole) Schomaker, Blake (Marlene) Beckmann, and Tommy Conway; 15 great- grandchildren, and he was anticipating 2 more great-grandchildren; also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Blanch Brueggemann, Helen Heidenreich, Johanna Diekemper, Mary Mueller, Leo (Leona) Beckmann, Jerry (Marilyn) Beckmann, and Alfie (Helen) Beckmann; in-laws, Bernette Beckmann, Virginia Beckmann, Fran Loepker, Rosemary McDowell and Severin Loepker; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, and on from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at St. Cecilia Church, Bartelso, Ill.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the church. Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso, Ill.
