Ann Wagner, nee Lesyganich, 80, of Maryville, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1926, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Ann was a homemaker. She was currently a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, Ill., and formerly St. Martin of Tours, Washington Park, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Wagner, whom she married Feb. 2, 1946, and passed away on June 20, 1998; her parents, Peter and Mary, nee Kelemetc, Lesyganich; a brother, George Lesyganich.
She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Connie A. Wagner of Maryville, Ill.; a sister, Helen O'Truk of Belleville, Ill.; aunt, Mildred Kelemetz; nieces and nephews, Michael (Mary) O'Truk of Houston, Texas, Carolyn (Mark) Keel of Belleville, Ill., Mark (Jill) O'Truk of Belleville, Ill.; great nephews and niece, Tony and Justin Keel, Katherine, Ben and Matthew O'Truk; numerous cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Ann found great joy and companionship in her wonderful black Lab, Lucy.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses to Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville or St. Henry's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.; Siteman Cancer Center, Collinsville Faith in Action, Animal Rescue Relief Foundation or BJC Hospice.
Ann's family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Rama Suresh and staff at Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis, Mo., and Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez and staff at Illinois Oncology Limited, Glen Carbon, Ill. Special thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Richard Walgren and Mr. Randy Rader who continuously put us on the right path. A very special thank you to Ann's niece, Carolyn Keel and family Mark, Justin and Tony and to Ann's sister Helen for allowing their lives to be turned upside down for the past six months to assist Connie in caring for her mom and to Connie's colleagues at Pfizer Inc. for their kindness and flexibility.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. at the mortuary.
Funeral: Funeral procession to leave at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Henry's Catholic Church, with Monsignor James Blazine officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
