Anthony G. Greten, 87, of Lively Grove, Ill., born July 17, 1926, in Lively Grove Township, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Kindred Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Anthony was a retired civil service heavy equipment operator and retired farmer. He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lively Grove, Ill., and a U.S. World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Theresa, nee Buss, Greten; two sisters, Josephine Schmersahl and Marie Behrman; and two brothers, Leo and Joseph Greten.
Surviving are four brothers, Urban (Mary Ann) Greten of St. Libory, Ill., Gilbert Greten of New Athens, Ill., Lambert (Carolyn) Greten of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Jerome (Pat) Greten of Marissa, Ill.; a sister, Rita Pour of New Athens, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the Moll Funeral Home in St. Libory, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lively Grove, Ill., with Father Paul Nwanegbo officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Lively Grove, Ill.
