Arlene C. DeMestri, nee Houba, 86, of Belleville, Ill., born Aug. 12, 1930, in Glen Carbon, Ill., died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at her residence.
Mrs. DeMestri worked as a secretary for 20 years for Mobil Oil, and 20 years as a supervisor for Belleville School District No. 118. Arlene was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Antoinette, nee Kubelka, Houba; and a brother, Al Houba.
Surviving are her husband, Bill N. DeMestri, whom she married June 11, 1955; a daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Heidorn of Belleville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey W. and Jessica A. Heidorn both of Belleville, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Carol Houba of Hecker, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
