Arthur Weinel, 92, of Columbia, Ill., born March 21, 1919, in Columbia, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011.
Mr. Weinel was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., St. Louis, Mo., after 42 years of service, where he was an award winning regional sales manager. He served with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. Art was a devoted husband and father, who was the consummate "family man".
He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate, Ruth, nee Love, Weinel, whom he married on Sept. 27, 1941, and who died on March 11, 2008; parents, Louis Philip and Edna Dorothea, nee Schoening, Weinel.
Surviving are his son, Jim (Solveig) Weinel of Greensboro, N.C.; daughter, Joan Love Gibbs of Columbia, Ill.; sister, Edna Dell Weinel of Columbia, Ill.; and a brother, Jim E. Weinel of San Diego, Calif.
