Beverly Jean Gardner, 82, of Eureka, Mo., born July 29, 1933, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away June 10, 2016, at Marymount Manor Nursing Center in Eureka, Mo., with her loving family by her side.

Bev was a homemaker and periodically worked in her husband's St. Louis diner. She also worked as a receptionist for a local doctor and then retired. She loved her family, her friends, Elvis, wearing denim, sweatshirts and tennis shoes, taking risks, a good story and a great bargain, staying up very late, taking walks, reading tabloid magazines, pastries, sweet tea and sweet treats, using words seldom used, keeping her age a secret, and being strong willed and non-traditional.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Monsueto Garbuio) Gardner; parents, William Warren and Juanita Thelma, nee Tourville, Barber; brothers, William John Barber, Edward Lewis Barber, Ralph Harold Barber, and Byron James Barber; sisters, Evelyn Virginia Seacord and Janet Marie Stram; brothers-in-law, William Edwin Seacord, and George Stram; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Jean Barber and Sophie Barber.

Surviving are her daughters, Anita Stewart, Regina (Andy) Hoven, Lisa (Tony) Serino, Aundria Hudson and Dina Novaria; grandchildren, Ryan Stewart, Lauren Stewart, Katelyn (Jim) Doza, Jaclyn (Zac) Bro, Andrew (Emily) Hoven, Madelyn Hoven, Rhagen Serino, Isabella Serino, Vegas Serino, Scout Hudson and Maxwell Novaria; great-grandson, Hudsen Doza; siblings, Louis Thomas (Donna) Barber, Ida May (Donald) Naumann, Robert Clark Barber and Judith Ann (Clyde) Butler; and sisters-in-law, Lorilee Barber and Pamela Barber. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
