Bobby C. Howell, 86, of Lebanon, Ill., born June 26, 1929, in Fleming, Ky., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at his residence, with his daughter by his side.
After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1948, and after making a career of the service he retired in 1968. Bobby was a member of the American Legion, Sportman's Club, Kentucky Colonels, and Lebanon Singers. He owned and operated the Sportsman's Tavern in Lebanon, Ill. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, billiards and the last several years, he planted a vegetable garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Helen, nee Barney, Howell; his wife and best friend, Miyoko, nee Yoshida, Howell, whom he married in 1952, in Tokyo, Japan; brothers, Richard Lee "Dickie" Howell, Ronald Joe Howell, and Jerry "Pete" Howell.
Surviving are his daughter, Helen L. Howell of Lebanon, Ill.; sisters, Patricia (Willie) Spangler of Neon, Ky., and Judith (Roger) Munn of Greenwood, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Graveside service will be at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Ill., with Rev. Tom Dawson, Pastor of First Baptist Church, O'Fallon, Ill., officiating.
