Carma Jean Shetterly, nee Bragg, 89, of Belleville, Ill., born June 3, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Thursday, July 21, 2016, at The Heritage at The Colonnades in O'Fallon, Ill.
Carma was a graduate of East St. Louis High School, Class of 1945. She worked as an executive secretary for Pet Incorporated for 24 years. Carma was an avid quilter at several churches, and loved
writing poems, reading, painting and attending the Muny with her children. For many years she volunteered at the Fox with her sister. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Shetterly; her grandson, Thomas J. Shetterly, II; her parents, John and Cora, nee, Bragg Williams; and her sisters, June Donze, and Arlena Worsham.
Surviving are her children, John Shetterly of Peru, Ill., Marge (Ron) Schaefer of Swansea, Ill., Jeanne (Wayne) Smith of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Jim Shetterly of Taylors, S.C.; her grandchildren, Stephen (Saralyn) Shetterly, Angela Schaefer, Michael (Amber) Smith, Jeffrey (Brittany) Smith, Anthony W. (Ann) Smith, and Jeffrey Shetterly; and seven great-grandchildren.
