Charles "Woody" Veteto, 78, of Collinsville, Ill., born June 10, 1938, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away at 1:40 p.m. Friday Aug. 5, 2016, at his residence.
Mr. Veteto was retired after many years of service as a insurance broker. He graduated high school and went to college at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He was an Army veteran.
In his younger years he played basketball, he enjoyed golf, all sports, but most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Connie, nee Bostwick, Veteto; and two sisters, Jayne Himmaugh and Nancy Currat.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn, nee Key, Veteto, whom he married on Aug. 5, 1960; a son, Charles (Mary Lou) Veteto of Troy, Ill.; a daughter, Beth (David) North of Troy, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Drew, Claire, Abigail, Adam, Alex, Chloe, and Ben; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Greg Pratt officiating. Private graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday Aug. 10, 2016, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
