Claude M. Davis, 72, of Granite City, Ill., born Oct. 15, 1943, in Chaffee, Mo., passed away Jan. 4, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Claude was best known for his handyman skills throughout the Granite City area. He was a long time employee of American Steel then went on to own Davis Construction. Claude was a former member of First Assembly of God in Granite City and in his free time he enjoyed to deer hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alta M., nee Dennis, Davis; brother, Adam Davis; sisters, Joan Germenceri , Zella Scziglak, and Margie Floyd; granddaughter, Linsdey White Davis; and nephew, Daris Davis.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Eileen, nee Boushard, Davis, whom he married on Oct. 17, 1963; his son, Paul Davis of Granite City; his daughter, Ruth and (Scott) McCormick of St. Peters, Mo.; grandchildren, Zac Davis and Chris Davis; and sister-in-law, Joyce Longbottom.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
Funeral: In celebration of his life, services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
