Clifford Gene Adams, 65, of Granite City, Ill., born on Sept. 20, 1951, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. at 3 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016.
Clifford graduated from Granite City Senior High School Class of 1969. He retired from Granite City Steel with over 30 years of dedicated service at the blast furnace. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his days of auctioneering, telling jokes, eating ice cream, singing old country songs including "Patches" and playing games and especially "Mustangs" and "Slug Bug" with his kids. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will forever be remembered and dearly missed.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ralph and Annabelle, nee Moore, Adams; and a brother, Donald Alan Adams.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Adams, nee Stephens, of Granite City; children, Belynda Loftus and her fianc‚, Justin Brown of Glen Carbon, Michelle Adams Dennis of Granite City and Aaron Adams Dennis of Granite City; grandchildren, Abigail Loftus and Justin Travis Brown; brothers, James (Thela Wanick) Adams of Cottage Hills, John (Shelley) Adams of Kane, Ill., Matthew Adams of Granite City; sister-in-law, Deborah Adams of Granite City; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at the funeral home.
