Courtney Sherfy
Courtney Fallon Sherfy, 20, of Granite City, Ill., born March 17, 1988, in Belleville, Ill., passed away at 3:17 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, in Collinsville, Ill.
Miss Sherfy attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville where she was a junior working towards her business degree. The 2006 graduate of Granite City High School was active with the dance team and video journalism. She had received an award as the features editor with the high school paper. She was confirmed and baptized at St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City. She lived life to her fullest, was a good student, enjoyed her years of sports and times spent with her many friends. She will be remembered for the love of her family and friends.
Courtney was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Jean Courtwright.
Surviving are her parents, Doug and Sandra, nee Sherfy, Jones of Granite City, Ill.; grandfather, Roy Sherfy of Collinsville, Ill.; grandmother and grandfather, Rose and William Jones Jr. of Granite City, Ill.; step grandfather, Clarence Courtwright of Arkansas; aunts and uncles, Sherri and Chuck Schubert of Granite City, Ill., Tammy Sherfy of Huntington Beach, Calif., Greg and Barb Jones of Columbus, Ohio, Cindy Shands of Granite City, Ill., Danny and Joan Jones of Las Vegas, Nev., Tom and Krystal Jones of Granite City, Ill., Paul and Tammy Jones of Melbourne, Fla.; Leah and Wally Somers of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; special friend, David Smith of Granite City, Ill.; many cousins; other extended family and many dear friends.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Miracle Network and may be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, with the Rev. Karla Frost officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
