Curtis Eugene Shoffner, 78, of Columbia, Ill., born Sept. 9, 1933, in Manila, Ark., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
He was employed for over 20 years as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration in Arnold, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence S. and Ermal I., nee Thomas, Shoffner.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, nee Lay, Shoffner, whom he married Sept. 27, 1952, in Olivette, Mo.; his children, Janis (David) Cates of Waterloo, Ill., Steve (Tammy) Shoffner of New Jersey, and Curtis E. (Lin) Shoffner Jr., of Ireland; seven grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren, his siblings, Donnie Shoffner, Bonnie Shoffner, Shirley Abt, Billie Shoffner, and Wayne Shoffner, along with other relatives and friends.
