Dan Henry Dauderman, 75, of Alhambra, Ill., born April 11, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away at 10:59 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, in the woods near his home.
In 1953 the Dauderman family moved to the family farm north of Alhambra, Ill. Dan continued to operate the grain farm and raise Black Angus cattle until his death. He was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ having served on the Church Council and various committees.
Dan loved trains. He was a conductor and passed the FRA test every year. He was an active member of the Monticello Railway Museum in Monticello, Ill., where he volunteered and also served as conductor for over 34 years. He was a part-time engineer with a short line railroad.
Dan loved the farm, the outdoors, camping in the Ozarks, his dog, Robby (an Australian Shepherd), and antique cars and tractors. Family and friends were always a major concern.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Gustave and Alice Vandalia, nee Alexander, Dauderman.
Surviving are his sister, Marilyn Alice (Laverne E.) Korsmeyer of Alhambra, Ill.; nieces, Jayne Marilyn (Steve) Roper of Plainfield, Ind., and Melanie Alice (Justin) Bonnell of Worden, Ill.; a nephew, Dean Laverne (Sherri) Korsmeyer of Alhambra, Ill.; and great-nieces, Addison Anne Korsmeyer of Alhambra, Ill., and Amanda Grace Korsmeyer of Alhambra, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Dauderman Mortuary, Alhambra, Ill., and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Salem United Church of Christ with Rev. Jerry Amiri officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Edwardsville, Ill.
