Daniel D. Polacek Jr., 63, of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 24, 1952, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away at 7:36 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Daniel was a 1971 Collinsville High School graduate. He worked for American Steel Foundry in Granite City, Ill., and also had worked in construction for many different companies. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 365 in Collinsville, Ill. Daniel was a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia which most was donated to various programs for youth. He also loved hunting and bargain antique stores.
He was preceded in death by a twin daughter, Emma M. Keller; an infant son, Samuel P. Polacek; and a brother-in-law, David A. Carruba Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Rose Ann, nee Carruba, Polacek whom he married Jan. 11, 1975; his parents, Daniel D. Polacek Sr. and Ruth, nee McGee, Polacek; two sons, Daniel D. Polacek III and Aaron Polacek of Collinsville, Ill.; three daughters, Christy L., Patricia A., and twin Natalie R. Polacek, all of Collinsville, Ill.; a sister, Bonnie S. Polacek of Collinsville, Ill.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Catherine Carruba of Collinsville, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Anthony Carruba Jr. of Hollywood Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Jane (Randy) Hackethel of Alhambra, Ill.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
