Daniel W. "Frank" Hurt, 26, of Edwardsville, Ill., born Sept. 3, 1987, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Daniel was a graduate of Rankin Technical School and worked for Franklin Fixtures in Edwardsville. He enjoyed woodworking and being outside planting flowers or walking the many trails near his home. He loved to camp and was a St. Louis Blues fan and also enjoyed all types of music and playing video games. He will be remembered for his infectious personality and the many special times shared together with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Kathie Wilson; and his uncle, Walter Wyatt.
Surviving are his parents, Roland "Bud" and Janet, nee Wyatt, Hurt; brothers, Timothy and Benjamin Hurt of Edwardsville; grandmother, Martha Hurt of Edwardsville; cousin, Andrea Wilson of Granite City; aunt, Barbara Shields of St. Peters, Mo.; uncle, Christopher Wyatt of Texas; great-aunt, Inez Miller of Edwardsville; and numerous cousins and extended family members and friends.
Memorials in honor of Daniel can be made to the Edwardsville Humane Society, 8495 State Route 143, Edwardsville, Ill. 62025.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
Funeral: In celebration of his life services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
