Darlene A. Miller, nee Reitz, 76, of New Athens, Ill., born Aug. 20, 1939, in Biddleborn, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. Darlene enjoyed listening and especially dancing to polka music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Miller, whom she married on June 20, 1959, in Waterloo, Ill., and who died Dec. 5, 2011; her parents, Gustav and Ella, nee Horn, Reitz; a brother, Leslie Reitz; and a sister, Barbara Mooney.
Surviving are her children, Marilyn (Doug) Endicott, Carolyn Miller, Rick (Karen) Miller, Randy (Rachel) Miller, Carlene (Tim) Croisdale, Dana (Kevin) Nieweglowski and Jeffrey Miller; her grandchildren, Corey Endicott, Cassie Endicott, Jacob Miller, Maria Miller, Barrett Nieweglowski and Callie Nieweglowski; her step-grandchildren, Naseem Al-Bori, Leila Al-Bori, Mahdi Al-Bori, Anisa Al-Bori, Christopher Croisdale and Nolan Croisdale; two brothers, Kenneth (Gail) Reitz and Merle Reitz; and nieces and nephews. Darlene also leaves behind her 2 beloved dogs, Fannie Mae and Kena.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, Ill.
Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, Ill., with Rev. Dr. Robert Koch officiating. Interment will be at Oakridge Cemetery in New Athens, Ill.
