David P. Krause, 63, of Highland, Ill., born August 22, 1953, in New Baltimore, Mich., died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, after battling pancreatic cancer, at his residence with his family by his side.
He served in the United States Air Force in the Security Police Department and later served as 1st Sergeant. He retired from the Air Force at Scott AFB, Ill., with 24 years' service.
He lived in this area for 30 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He had a passion for Appaloosa Horses -- bred, raised, and sold National and World Champion Appaloosas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara, nee Brownfiel, Krause.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Krause, nee Miller, whom he married May 22, 1985 in Manassas, Va., and who resides in Highland, Ill.; children, Jason (Vicky) Krause, of Granite City, Ill., and April Bushaw, of Fisher, Minn.; grandchildren, Steven Zeigler, Jenna Krause, Jarrod Krause, Cassandra Bushaw, and Jack Krause; stepfather, Eugene Lee; sister, Karen Wilkins, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; stepsisters, Tammy O'Donnell, Pamela Krause, Cinda Lee, and Shelly (Chris) Knowlton; fur babies, Jagger Krause and Sadie Grace Krause; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, Ill. Interment at a later date.
