David R. Woodard, 93, of Madison, Ill., born July 13, 1923 in Granite City, Ill., died Thursday Oct. 20, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Dutchwood Care Center in St. Louis, Mo.
David was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge of Granite City. He was employed at Granite City Steel as a switchman for 47 years, from which he retired in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Irene, nee Steinhauser, Woodard; his wife, Agnes Alice Cook, whom he married July 29, 1950 in Madison, Ill.; sons, Ricky David Woodard and Ronald Woodard; sisters, Nadine Remer and Lorene McClelland Mueller; brothers, Manfred Woodard, Alfred Woodard, William Woodard, Ronald Woodard, and Larry Woodard.
Surviving are his grandson, Ricky D. Woodard of Madison, Ill.; granddaughters, Jodie (Mike) Farless of Kansas City, Mo. and Ashley Woodard of Texas.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville.
