Debra Kay Covalesky, 57, of Greenville, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at her home.
Debra Kay, the daughter of Howard and Jean Phillips Brandt, was born Feb. 15, 1959, in Columbia, Ill. She grew up in Columbia, attended the local schools and graduated with the class of 1977 from Columbia High School. Debra worked for Wal-Mart and then Hallmark in Collinsville, Ill. for several years.
Debra and Chris Alan Covalesky were united in marriage on July 17, 1997. Surviving is her husband and their children, Heather Wilhelm of St. Louis, Mo., Bethany Wilhelm-Atkins and husband, Greg of Murray, Ky., Cody Covalesky of Greenville, Ill., and Caitlin Covalesky of Greenville, Ill.; a stepson, Cory Covalesky of Granite City, Ill., and stepdaughter, Courtney Covalesky of St. Louis, Mo.
Debra and Chris moved to Greenville in 2006. She has worked for Countryside Pet Clinic in Vandalia, and volunteered for Second Chance Animal Rescue in Fayette County.
Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue or the Metro-East Humane Society.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, 203 West Oak, Greenville, Ill.
Funeral: A celebration of life service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home.
