Dennis J. Harney, Ph.D., J.D., 46, of O'Fallon, Ill., born Nov. 12, 1969, in Portsmouth, Va., passed away Friday June 10, 2016 at his residence in O'Fallon, Ill.
Dennis was a patent attorney and partner at Dentons. He was a member of The Missouri Bar, the American Society of Plant Biologists, and St. Michael's Episcopal Church in O'Fallon, Ill. He was an avid wakeboarder, wakesurfer, and snowboarder, and loved the outdoors. He was brilliant and generous, and his life touched many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald James Harney.
Surviving are his wife, Julie C. Jennings and a son, Ezra James of O'Fallon, Ill.; his mother, Janice N., nee Appel, Moore and stepfather, John Moore of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister, Jodi Harney (Robert Mulcahy) of Stuart, Fla.; a brother, Michael (Penny) Moore, and two nieces, Kaylee Moore and Emilie Moore, all of Mooresville, N.C.
