Donald Sether, 77, of Collinsville, Ill., born Tuesday, May 17, 1938, in Renville, Minn., passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Donald was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., and he was active with C.R.U. (formerly Campus Crusade), distributing the Jesus film throughout the World. Donald was proud to be a United States Marine, where he served valiantly from 1959 to 1963. Donald then became a court reporter for 40 years and also taught court reporting at Merrimac Campus, St. Louis Community College.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mata Sether.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Karen Sether; children, Robin (Michael) Beer of Suwanee, Ga., Jill Burroughs of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Scott (Cynthia) Sether of Burnsville, Minn.; a sister, JoAnn (Randy) Paulson of Wilmar, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Seth, Savannah, Zackary, Joshua, Jacob, Johnathan, and Joseph.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Collinsville or to C.R.U., Jesus Film Project.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main St., Collinsville, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Ill. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
