Doris Ann, nee Marler, Rushing, 77, of Marissa, Ill., born Jan. 24, 1939, in Marissa, Ill., passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, in Cedaredge, Colo.
Mrs. Rushing was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Marissa, Ill., where she served on the Pastor Parish Committee. She was a member of the Marissa Chamber of Commerce.
Doris was a 20 year cancer survivor, and was the director of the Rushing for the Cure Foundation, and worked tirelessly to fund breast cancer research.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bron and Ora, nee Blank, Marler; three brothers, Jack Marler, Clarence Marler, and Bill Marler; and a sister, Betty Jean Marler.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Rushing whom she married on June 26, 1956; her children, Douglas (Trish) Rushing of Marissa, Ill., and Dawn (Rick) Wilfon of Smithton, Ill.; her grandchildren, Cory Womack of Smithton, Ill., Ryan (Angela) Rushing of Lebanon, Mo., January Rushing of Taos, Mo., and Shawn (Jean Ann) Rushing of Lebanon, Mo.; her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Bethanie, Houston, Kent, Daralyn, and Cole; three sisters-in-law, Marty Marler, Angie Marler, and Norma Vincent.
Memorials may be made to Rushing for the Cure for the benefit of the Siteman Cancer Center.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Marissa, Ill.
Funeral: A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at the church, with Rev. Philip Gardner officiating.
