Doris June Dilday, 81, of Granite City, Ill., born June 17, 1934, in Lesterville, Mo., passed away at 12:22 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Ill.
Doris was a dedicated homemaker. In her earlier years she had worked in banking in St. Louis and for Charles Todd Uniform in Granite City. She graduated from high school in Chester, Ill., and was a member of the West 22nd Street Baptist Church in Granite City. She enjoyed her days of cooking and watching old movies. Doris will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow C. Dilday, whom she married on July 3, 1954, in Ellis Grove, Ill., and who passed away July 10, 2014; an infant daughter, Sherry Lynn Dilday; parents, Joe and Cora, nee Camden, Owensby; and eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Vicki Dilday of Granite City and Durand Dilday of Granite City; four grandchildren, Jeffrey L. (Kelley) Dilday Jr., Jennifer L. Isreal, Ashley Nicole Bain and Suzanne Huer; four great-grandchildren, Derek Spink, Kiera Spink, Cody Huer and Kailey Bielman; other extended family and friends.

Visitation: In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at the funeral home with Reverend Keith Braddock officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
