Dorothy Jean Dressel, nee Juenger, 83, of Marissa, Ill., born March 10, 1933, in Lively Grove, Ill., passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, at the New Athens Home for the Aged, New Athens, Ill.
Mrs. Dressel was a senior mine clerk for Peabody Coal Company, prior to that she worked at several area banks. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ where she served on the church council. Dorothy was a founding board member of the Sonshine Corner Community Thrift Store. She served on the Marissa District 40 School Board. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Dorothy was an avid quilter, and was very talented at sewing. She also enjoyed gardening. Most of all she was a very loving wife, mom and grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lula, nee Mueller, Juenger. She was also preceded by seven brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her loving husband, Milton Dressel whom she married on Nov. 13, 1954, in O'Fallon, Ill.; her children, David (Brenda Pete) Dressel of Marissa, Ill., Debra (John) Gunther of Camp Point, Ill., and Daniel (Vickie) Dressel of O'Fallon, Ill.; her grandchildren, Todd Cowell, Troy (Cindy) Cowell, Andrew Gunther, Joshua (Brittany) Gunther, Jeremy (Jessica) Dressel, Justin (Trisha) Dressel, Danielle (Kyle) Sigman, Blake Reasor, and Nicholas Reasor; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: A gathering to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home, Marissa, Ill.
Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at the Marissa Township Cemetery, Marissa, Ill., with Rev. Don Wagner officiating.
