Dr. E. Lynn Suydam

Dr. E. Lynn Suydam ,75, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016.

He was the beloved husband of Connie, nee Koosmann, Suydam; father of Maren (Doug) Weil, Brent (Amy) and Ladd (Jen); grandfather of Caroline, Maya, Will, Adrien and Jack; brother of Shari (Hank) Mattice; and "Big Brother" of Stephon (Bear) Parker.

Lynn received BS in Biology, General Science and Education from Pfeiffer College, a Masters in Marine Science from William & Mary, Doctorate in Vocational Education/Community College Administration at VA Tech, and Educational Specialist, Instructional System Technology degree from Indiana University. He spent a year as a research biologist in the Antarctic in 1967 and was given the honor of having a mountain named after him. He was Dean at Rappahannock Community College, Provost at Columbia Green Community College, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Southwestern Illinois College (formerly of BAC) and President at St Louis Community College, Meramec. He volunteered on the following non-profit boards: Kirkwood Area Arts Council, Gateway Greening Council, St Clare Hospital Advisory Board, Soulard Special Business District. He was a Rotarian and so proud of what Rotary International does to help people in need.

The family would like to extend its gratitude for the wonderful care, respect and concern shown to Lynn and the family by the entire staff at Siteman Cancer Center.
