Edna C. Liefer, nee Langrehr, 99, of Red Bud, Ill., born May 14, 1916, in Evansville, Ill., passed away March 8, 2016, at her son's home in rural Red Bud, Ill.
Mrs. Liefer was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and a former member of St. John's Mission Society. Edna loved quilting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold H. Liefer, whom she married on Sept. 15, 1940, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Evansville, Ill., and who died July 13, 2002; her parents, Charles and Carolina, nee Hanebutt, Langrehr; three brothers, Victor, Walter and Oscar Langrehr; and a sister, Clara Kelkhoff.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Jim) Wanagat of Collinsville, Ill., and Eugene (Darlene) Liefer of Red Bud, Ill.; grandchildren, Shelly (Wade) Liefer, Carrie (Tom) Beshoar, Matthew (Cyndi) Liefer, Jonathan (Janina) Wanagat, Timothy Wanagat (friend, Mithy), Rachel (Daniel) Sabanosh and Sarah (Brad) Gerth; and great-grandchildren, Anna, Mia, Tessa, Jacob, Conner, Henry, Findley, Beckett, Graham, Kip and Elise. Edna was a dear sister-in-law, aunt cousin and friend.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home, Red Bud, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Nebel and Rev. Russell Koen officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, Ill.
