Edward D. "Hook" McCormick, 72, of Collinsville, Ill., born August 13, 1943, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Liberty Village, Maryville, Ill.
Edward was retired from Monsanto in Sauget and was the former president of the Chemical Workers Union. He was the chief spokesman of local and big table negotiations and was awarded the 1998 Labor Man of the Year. He belonged to the Southwestern Central Labor Council, 1992 Thomas E. Boyle Award for dedication and personal contribution to the International Chemical Workers Union. He was full time union representative from 1980 until retirement in December 1998. He was a democratic precinct committeeman and also received the retirement award from Collinsville Township. Edward was a member of the Schlitz Softball Team, Collinsville Recreation Club since 1974 and was the Fishing Derby Chairman from 1999 to 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Marie, nee Bailey, McCormick; a brother, Bruce McCormick; and a sister, Charlene Druse.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria "Jeannie", nee Hensler, McCormick; son, Brian (Ruby) Morrissey of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Kelly Morrissey and Timothy Morrissey; brother-in-law, Ronald Druse of Belleville, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Linda Osborn of New Athens, Ill., and Brenda Russell of Millstadt, Ill.; nephews, Dwayne Druse and Douglas Druse; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Pastor Hal Santos officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
