Edward W. Wolf, 89, of Belleville, Ill., born May 4, 1926, in Freeburg, Ill., died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Parkway Gardens Assisted Living, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Mr. Wolf received an associate of arts degree in personnel administration from Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., and retired as director of Civilian Personnel, Headquarters, Military Airlift Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., having spent 41 years in government service. Edward was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
A member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill., for more than 50 years, Ed served as a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the Church Council and Moderator. He was a member of the Memorial Hospital Board of Directors for 30 years. Ed was a member of the Belleville Kiwanis Club where he served as president and was also a member of the Lee's Summit, Missouri Kiwanis Club. He was a past-president of the Toastmasters Club, Grandview, Mo.
Mr. Wolf was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Frieda, nee McClard, Wolf.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Gloria M., nee Stammer, Wolf, a resident of The Arbors Memory Care, Fairview Heights, Ill.; a daughter, Rebecca (Phillip) Davidson of Leawood, Kan.; and a grandson, Andrew (Brittany) Davidson of New Orleans, La.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of Southern Illinois for the compassionate care given to Ed during his final four weeks.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 47 North Douglas Ave., Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Trinity United Church of Christ with Rev. Cory Hartz officiating. Private burial with military honors will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
