Eleanor Voss

Eleanor A. Voss, nee Laux, 83, of Breese, Ill., born Aug. 8, 1932, in Beaver Prairie, Ill., departed this life peacefully, on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., surrounded by her loving

family.

Eleanor owned and operated H&R Block in Breese, Ill., for 40 years, and continued to work there for another 13 years. She is a member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, Eucharistic Minister, and church bookkeeper.; Breese Senior Citizens, past- president of Mater Dei Mother's and Friends Club; past school board member of District 12 Breese and Beckemeyer; past board of directors of Clinton County Electric Cooperative, past director of Illinois Electric Cooperatives; Kaskaskia College Reading Link Mentor, and Volunteer at the Catholic Urban Program in Caseyville, Ill. She participated in the Just Faith Social Ministry Group, and was a member of the St. Louis Metro Polka Club. She also participated in the Clinton County Relay for Life and the Plow for a Cure.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Voss whom she married on Oct. 10, 1951, at St. Felicitas Catholic Church in Beaver Prairie, Ill., and who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2014; a son in infancy, Charles Gerard; two grandsons, Blake Voss, and Nathan Meddows; her parents, Julius and Cecilia, nee Dumstorff, Laux; her bother,

Leonard Laux; a sister, Dorothy Haselhorst; and bothers-in- law and sisters-in- law, Raymond Kniepmann, Vincent Voss, Steve Haselhorst, Lorraine Voss, Del and Bernard Becker, and August Jansen, Aron Wych.

Eleanor leaves her loving family, Dale (Carolyn) Voss of Pierron, Ill., Dennis (Amy) Voss of Carlyle, Ill., Jim (Donna) Voss of St. Rose, Ill., Glen (Denise) Voss of Carlyle, Ill., Leon (Julie) Voss of Breese, Ill., Peggy (Craig) Timmermann of Aviston, Ill., and Lynn (Dave) Meddows of Trenton, Ill.; her grandchildren, Audra (Dave), Erica (Rob), Stephanie (Stacy), Amanda (Jeremiah), Erin (Chad), Jamie, Kelly, Nick (Angela), Chris (Kayla), Zach (friend Heather), Luke (friend Chelsie), Leann (friend Nick), Kyle (friend Carli), Megan (friend Kyle) Amber, Ryan, and Cami; and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Bertha Voss, and Helen Kniepmann; and sisters-in- law and brothers-in- law, Theodolinda "Lin" Jansen, Jerome Voss, Armella Wych, Clarence Voss, Leonard (Betty) Voss, and Theodore Jr. (Laura) Voss,

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday August 11, 2016, at Moss Funeral Home, Breese, Ill.

Funeral: A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday August 12, 2016, at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, Beaver Prairie, Ill., with Fr.

Larry Nickels presiding. Interment will be in St. Felicitas Cemetery.
