Eleanor S. "Sis", nee Watson, DeKum, 83, of Shiloh, Ill., born March 9, 1933, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Bradford Place, Swansea, Ill.
Eleanor was retired from PET, Inc., St. Louis, Mo., and attended St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. "Nick" DeKum, whom she married March 31, 1951, in Belleville, Ill., and who passed away March 2, 2009; her parents, James and Gertrude, nee Gerlach, Watson; and her brothers, Leonard and James Watson.
Surviving are her daughter, Michelle "Mickey" (Mark) Strube of Shiloh, Ill.; a brother-in-law, John Bondi of Boca Raton, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Otis of Sarasota, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Barb (Joe) Santanello, and Kathy (Michael) Arnold; great-nieces and nephews, Mary (Joshua) Stevens, Michael (Amber) Santanello, and Molly Santanello, Michael Arnold, Jessica (Koby) Kizzire, and Nicole Arnold; great-great-nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2016, at St. Clare Church, with Fr. Jim Deiters, officiating. Private Interment will take place in Jefferson Barracks National Cemtery, St. Louis, Mo.
