Eugene Dean Sronce, 60, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of St. Petersburg, Fla., born Jan. 14, 1956 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, Ill.
He retired in 2009 from the St. Petersburg Times after 34 years of dedicated service as a machine readiness technician. He was an avid antique and muscle car enthusiast. He loved his days of restoring cars, attending car shows and swap meets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sronce and Jennie, nee Brandhorst, Feeney
Surviving are two sisters, Eugenea "Kay" Sronce of Granite City, Ill., and Martha "Bobbi" (Mickey) McCrea of Granite City, Ill.; two nieces, Regina (Derrick) Robbins-Clark of Clearwater, Fla., and Paula Sronce of Granite City, Ill.; two great-nieces, Brittany and Ashley; a great-nephew, Dorian; half brother, Madison (Susan) Sronce of Plainview, Ill.; and other extended family and many friends.

Services: In celebration of his life and in accordance to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held. Irwin Chapel of Granite City in charge of arrangements.
