Fred O. Braun, 88, of Belleville, Ill., born May 14, 1928, in Cahokia, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon, Ill.
Fred was a retired Carmen for Alton Southern Railroad in East St. Louis, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha, nee Dehn, Braun; two brothers, Robert and Frank Braun; three sisters, Albertha Braun, Luella Merchut and Lucille Cory.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Josephine "Joey" Braun; a son, Raymond (Janet) Braun of Belleville, Ill.; a daughter, Karen Braun (Keith Hacke) of Glendale, Mo.; a brother, John (Joan) Braun of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a sister, Fern Bull of Swansea, Ill.; five grandchildren, Raymond Braun, Tanya (Greg) Beach, Joel, and Laura and Quinn Hacke; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Megan and Michael. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Kurlmeyer officiating. Burial in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
