Gary Ahrens, 48, of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011, surrounded by loved ones.
Gary was a 1981 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School. He loved his wonderful family, his great friends and was an inspirational leader to all. He will be dearly missed. Gary enjoyed reading, sports, especially baseball and golf, and coaching his son's soccer team. He also loved to run and had completed three marathons. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his masters degree from The University of Dayton. Gary was very active in the Dayton community as founder and president of The Ahrens Consulting Group (TACG), and acting as chairman of the Board of the Directors for Choices, a firm dedicated to helping foster children and families. He served in the United States Air Force where he was a commissioned officer. Gary had a strong work ethic, was an amazing leader, teacher, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Ahrens.
Surviving Gary are his wife, Jennifer, nee Trimboli, Ahrens; his three children, Dean, Adriana and Evelyn Ahrens; his father, Ron Ahrens; sister, Dianne (Todd Kibbey); three nieces, Grace, Olivia and Sophia; two nephews, Sean and Caleb; brothers and sisters- in- law, Cecilia (Jeff McGrath), Frank (Alesha) Trimboli and John (Danielle) Trimboli; and mother-in- law, Denise Trimboli. He is also survived my many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Dayton.
Funeral: Services were held at Westbrook Funeral Home in Kettering Ohio. Interment was at Calvary Cemetary, Dayton Ohio.
