Gertrude B. "Trudy" Winters, nee Brown, 96, born July 22, 1919 in Williamson, West Virginia passed away on March 25, 2016 in Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Winters retired after 26 years of teaching sixth graders at Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, Ill. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church. She loved square dancing, shopping, antiquing and loved going to Applebee's for margaritas.
Gertrude Winters was known as Trudy Winters and loved as Picky Winters.
Mrs. Winters was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Howard E. Winters whom passed away on March 3, 2001; her parents, Thomas H. and Ninnie, nee Avis, Brown; two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are granddaughter, Kat (Marty) Simard of Belleville, Ill., and their son Mathew J. Simard; grandson, Kyle (Kari) Morton; great-grandson, Gatlin D. Morton; her loving and devoted dog, Russell "Rusty" Winters; and dear friends, Carol and Edward McCullough.

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Dr. Ed Weston officiating.
