Gloria E. Doyle, nee Cain, of Swansea, Ill., born Saturday, April 29, 1922, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at her residence.
Gloria was the first female manager at Western Union in Missouri and worked as a teletype operator for Newhart Cook Company. She was a member of Christ Unity Church in Collinsville, Ill., and The Nelson Eddy Fan Club. She was an artist and the best caregiver ever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Doyle; first husband, James C. Pride; parents, Robert W. and Mamie, nee Layton, Cain; brothers, Robert Cain, Donald Cain and Roland Cain; and a sister, Eileen Cain.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl A. Pride of Swansea, Ill.; sister, Joan Levandowski of Easton, Pa.; nieces, Stella Wischmeyer, Sharon Smalley, Barbara (Mark) Kolodzie, Janet (Walter) Dryer and Gloria (Jim) Middleton; nephews, Russell (Cherri) Cain, Alan (Theresa) Cain, Dr. Roland (Betty) Levandowski and Greg (Darlene) Pride; great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; chosen family, Kathy (Michael) Moon, Bruce Andres, Linda B. Whittingham, Angie Stamper, Colleen (Clyde) Williams, Rev. Karen Landwehr, Jo Peak, Jill Hinchey, Linda Zoll, Eric Bloemker and Justin (Claire) Scherer; and her grand dog, Joey Pepe Pride

Funeral: A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Lake View Memorial Gardens in the Reiss Chapel, with Rev. Karen Landwehr officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
