Gordon M. Roberts, 86, of Belleville, Ill., born Saturday, Aug. 31, 1929, in East Saint Louis, Ill., died Monday, May 16, 2016, at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh, Ill.
Gordon attended East St. Louis High School. He graduated from the University of Missouri, and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was proud to serve his country as a Marine in the Korean War. Gordon had a successful 35 year career as an executive with AM International. His life was enriched by his deep love of family and friends. He was a loving husband and proud father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Lucille K. Roberts Sr.; his brothers, Jack Roberts, and Dick Roberts; and a sister, Janet Eggmann.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta A., nee Keeley, Roberts of Belleville, Ill.; his children, Susan (Bob) McDonnell,
Gordon (Gretchen) Roberts, Jr., Anne (late husband John "Fred" Betten II) Betten, Richard Roberts, Peggy Roberts, Janet (Antoine) Maron, Stephen Roberts and Laurent Nouvion; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; dear nieces and nephews.
