Harold Cowell, 57, of Red Bud, Ill., born Dec. 18, 1958, in Red Bud, Ill., passed away on June 7, 2016, at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, Ill.
Mr. Cowell was in the auto sales business. He was a former member of the Red Bud Fire Department for 28 years, the Randolph County Deputy Coroner for 25 years, Red Bud Alderman for eight years, ISHA referee, and coach for the Red Bud Athletic Association for five years. He was also a member of St. John's Catholic Church and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Irene, nee Kriete, Cowell; father-in-law, William Berg; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Stolte.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra, nee Berg, Cowell, of Red Bud, Ill., whom he married on Oct. 6, 1984, at St. Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo, Ill.; daughters, Rebecca Cowell of Red Bud, Ill., and Cecelia Cowell of Red Bud, Ill.; grandchild, Hailee; brothers and sisters, Jeanette (Bob) Ellner of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., Elaine (Harry) Marquardt of Waterloo, Ill., Robert E. (Esther) Cowell of Red Bud, Ill., Marie Stolte of Red Bud, Ill., Mark (Vickey) Cowell of Red Bud, Ill., Barb Cowell of Missouri and Lisa (Don) Nicholson of Red Bud, Ill.; his mother-in-law, JoAnn Berg of Waterloo, Ill.; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cynthia and James Asinger of Waterloo, Ill.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home, Red Bud, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at St. John's Catholic Church in Red Bud, Ill., with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud, Ill.
