Harrison Jeffrey William Padgett Jr., 29, of Granite City, Ill., born on June 21, 1982, in St. Louis, Mo., passed from this life on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at St. Louis University Hospital with his family by his side.
Jeff worked for the US Steel Corporation as a coke oven operator. Jeff loved life and enjoyed motorcycle riding, four wheeling and spending time with his children and other family members. He always thought of others by giving to the United Way and even in death helping people live on by being an organ donor.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Robert Koehler and Harrison "Skeeter" and Nancy Padgett.
Surviving are his parents, Robin (Koehler) Dooley of Winona, Mo., and Harrison "Jeff" W. (Terry) Padgett Sr. of Granite City, Ill.; daughter, Taylor Meagher of Granite City, Ill.; son, Trenton Padgett of Granite City, Ill.; three sisters, Nancy (Eric) Bickel, Kelly Brice and Amber Padgett, all of Granite City, Ill.; brother, Nathan Padgett of Granite City, Ill.; eight nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Sims officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
