Helen Distler

Helen J. Distler, 95, of O'Fallon, Ill., born March 3, 1918, in Salem, Ill., died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Lebanon Care Center, Lebanon, Ill.

Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the True Blue group at the church, the O'Fallon Senior Citizens and Easter Star OES 487.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Boots" Distler, Jr.; a son, Charles J. Distler; parents, Grant and Nellie, nee Walsh, Brannon; two brothers, William and Kenneth Brannon; and two sisters, Mildred Brannon and Mary Ellen Schlossmann.

Helen is survived by a son, Michael (Lisa) Distler of O'Fallon, Ill.; a daughter, JoAnn (John) Cook of Dade City, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Johnson; six grandchildren, Daryl Distler and Thung, Michelle Garicia, Scott Cook, Heather Cook, Andrea Distler-Darr and Melissa Distler; and nine great-grandchildren, Jaden Distler-Darr, Ivy Darr, Samuel Distler, Chaz Distler, Melissa Distler, Zachary, Dane and Jake Garicia and Maximillian Geromiller.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Schildknecht Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill.

Funeral: Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
