Helen Nail-Carrico, nee Devlin, 96, formerly of Keyesport, Ill., born May 21, 1920, in Caseyville, Ill., passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, in Coulterville, Ill.
Helen was a homemaker who loved her family and her church. She enjoyed traveling to warmer climates during the winter and returning home each spring. She enjoyed playing cards and doing crafts with her friends from Keyesport. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a lay minister and belonged to the Secular Order of St. Francis, Franciscans.
Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Nail; second husband, Cecil Carrico; her parents, James Devlin and Sarah Ella, nee Short, Luppens; a daughter, Mary (Jerry) White; a grandson; a great-grandson; three sisters; and a brother.
Surviving are her children, Martha (Harry) Higgerson of Pinckneyville, Ill., Russell (Connie) Nail of Lawtey, Fla., Clarence (Nancy) Nail of Red Bud, Ill., and Jerry (Carol) Nail of Perryville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to everyone at the Coulterville Care Center where Helen resided. We could never thank them enough for the loving care and comfort that enriched mothers life and also that of her family.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday June 17, 2016, at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln, O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday June 17, 2016, at the funeral home with Deacon Dennis VanderVen of St.Claire officiating. Burial will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
