Henry F. Kloess Jr., 91, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Aug. 4, 1925, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, in Maryville, Ill.
Henry retired as the building superintendent at the Blue Cross/Blue Shield building in St. Louis, Mo. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He was a U.S. Army veteran and POW during World Ware II. He enjoyed gardening and was always looking for something to fix.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arleen, nee Massey, Kloess, and she preceded him on June 8, 2011; parents, Henry and Marie, nee Hewitt, Kloess Sr.; and a sister, Dorothy DuPree.
Surviving are a son, Scott (Artemis) of Rochester Hill, Mich.; and two grandsons, Jason (Amber) Kloess of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Adam Kloess of Novi, Mich.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Services: Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Patton officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
