Hugo C. "Hook" Heinemann, 91, born Aug. 9, 1924, in Belleville, Ill., passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, 2015, in Kirkwood, Mo.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.
Hook was raised in Belleville, Ill., where he was an Eagle Scout and excelled academically and athletically in football and wrestling at Belleville Township High School. He attended Purdue University, obtaining a B.S. degree in chemical engineering, and later received a master's degree in engineering administration from Washington University. He served in the United States Navy and attained the rank of lieutenant junior grade after attending officers training school. Hook served in both World War II and the Korean conflict. He married Gloria Causey also of Belleville in 1946 and they were married until her death in 2003. Several wonderful friendships followed her death.
Hook completed a long career with Monsanto Company where he was recognized as a master salesman followed by an enjoyable 10 years with the Charles S. Lewis Pump Company.
He loved his family, playing a good round of golf at Algonquin, and spending time with his many friends. The family is also grateful to his many caregivers and helpers. The greatest generation has lost one of it's finest.
