Irma M. Rinderer, 87, of Marine, Ill., born Monday, Oct. 15, 1928 in St. Jacob, Ill., died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at her residence.
Irma was born and grew up in St. Jacob, Ill. Following her marriage, she and her husband lived in St. Jacob. They moved to Marine in 1950, where they have lived ever since. Irma was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her six children. She was a deputy tax collector when her husband was elected tax collector. She also assisted her husband when he worked as a business agent for Local 680. Irma kept house, taking care of a large garden, canning, babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed making many quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leto J. "Leets" Rinderer, whom she married on Friday, Oct. 25, 1946 in St. Jacob, Ill., and who died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012; a son, Ronald L. Rinderer, who died Aug. 16, 1975; her parents, Peter C. and Ella K., nee Graff, Schiefer; brothers, Wilbur J. Schiefer, Milton "Dick" Schiefer, Allan F. Schiefer and Earl C. Schiefer; and sisters, Viola Schiefer, Alice Miekamp and Dorothy Fohne.
Surviving are her children, Sharon M. Rinderer of Highland, Ill., Carol A. (Randall) Ackerman of Marine, Ill., Dennis E. Rinderer of Highland, Ill., Janet M. (Steven) Potts of Marine, Ill., and Donna K. Rinderer of Marine, Ill.; grandchildren, Michael T. (Kim) Ackerman of Edwardsville, Ill., Chandra K. (David) Monken of Grantfork, Ill., and Micki L. (Chris) Salvage of Edwardsville, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Mettler of New York, N.Y., Kolten T. Ackerman of Edwardsville, Ill., Jace D. Ackerman of Edwardsville, Ill., Kaylyn A. Rolfingsmeier of Mulberry Grove, Ill., Dylan J. Rolfingsmeier of Grantfork, Ill., Victoria "Tori" Salvage of Collinsville, Ill., Madison "Maddie" Salvage of Edwardsville, Ill., and Tyler "Ty" Salvage of Edwardsville, Ill.; and her sister, Eleanora F. "Pat" Behrens of O Fallon, Ill.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2016 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2016 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill., with Rev. Philip H. Kershner officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, Ill.
