James Allen Taylor, 83, of Belleville, Ill., born June 19, 1929, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at his residence.
James was a plasterer and a member of the Local 90 in Troy, Ill. He loved animals, bowling, skeet shooting, fishing, camping, metallurgy and metal detection. He was a professional archer and he also taught archery at the Boy's Club in East St. Louis, Ill. He was also a black powder shooter.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Howard William and Ollie Mae, nee Modglin, Taylor; and a brother, Robert Taylor.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Ruby, nee Tabor, Taylor who he married on Oct. 15, 1952, in Caseyville, Ill.; children, David Allen Taylor of Nevada, Mo., and Carol Diane Taylor of Belleville, Ill.; granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Berry of South Carolina; and a sister, Betty May (Denis) Yerlikaya of Des Peres, Mo.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
