James "Jim" Dutton, 64, born Jan. 22, 1952, in Ft. Hood, Texas passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, in Belleville, Ill., with family by his side.
Jim graduated in 1971 from Edwardsville High School. He was well known in the town of
Collinsville as the "street sweeper man". He was employed with the City of Collinsville Public Works Department for over 30 years, he retired in 2006. He was passionate about line dancing,
photography, drawing and family functions. His family and friends all knew him as the most selfless man around. Papa Jim, as his grandchildren knew him, was crazy about his
grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Etta, nee Dalton, Dutton; and a brother, Don Dutton, all of Edwardsville, Ill.
Surviving are two children, Jennifer (Micah) Wilson of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Josh (Cindy) Dutton of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren, Kiele Hayden, Jordan Wilson, DJ Dutton, Ethan Dutton, Cassidy Winters and Alysia Winters; two sisters, Kate (Joe) White of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Paula
(Mic) Leone of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a brother, Scott (Ava) Dutton of Richardson, Texas; a sister-in-law, Tina Dutton of Bethalto, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are appreciated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Service: At his request, cremation without a formal funeral will take place. A memorial service will be performed in the spring with close family and friends, dates and times are pending.
