James Farris Sr.|
James Edward Farris Sr., 71, of Collinsville, Ill., born May 31, 1945, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at his daughter's home.
James was a retired fork lift operator from Elementis in East St. Louis, Ill., and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He enjoyed working with leather, the outdoors, going to the lake and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Farris, nee Weeden, whom he married on June 25, 1965, in East St. Louis, Ill.; his parents, Leonard and LaWanda, nee Neil, Farris; and a sister, Mary Lynn Ubaudi.
Surviving are his son and daughter, James E. (Christine) Farris Jr. of Caseyville, Ill., and Cheri (Phillip) Elmore of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Justin Elmore of Mascoutah, Ill., Joshua Elmore of St. Louis, Mo., Cody Farris, Taylor Farris and Alexander Farris all of Caseyville, Ill.; brothers and sisters, Leonard E. "Butch" Farris Jr. of Tampa Bay, Fla., William (Cathy) Farris of Collinsville, Ill., Janice Jo "Sissy" Paris of Harlingen, Texas, and Kathy Brown of Riverside, Calif.; step sister, Linda Hope of Shiloh, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home with Deacon Donnie Chandler officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
